“I chose to open an Express franchise because I thought it would be a good marriage from my past experiences in human resources and being an owner in a business,” Paul Kotz, Express franchisee of the Fitchburg (West Madison), WI, office, said.
Paul’s background in human resources and his desire to help businesses and job seekers be successful make him a perfect fit for the staffing industry.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with his master’s degree in Business Administration, Paul joined the Harrison Corporation, a $5 billion company, where he began his career in human resources. Starting out as a young man, he quickly learned the rules of HR and worked his way up the ladder.
Later, he went to work as the vice president/co-owner of 5 Alarm Fire and Safety Equipment, Inc., where he was in charge of human resources, finance and accounting, and technical service.
Today, certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), he’s ready to embark on a new entrepreneurial adventure with Express.
“I have been a customer of the staffing industry for over 25 years and have been active in recruiting and staffing at the previous businesses I have worked in,” Paul said. “I have had the vision for a while to get involved in this industry.”
As Paul set out on a new journey to find the perfect staffing opportunity, he first approached one of Express’ competitors. “I quickly realized they didn’t have what I wanted in a business, so they told me to check out Express. And, here I am.”
It turns out Express had just what Paul was looking for, and he was the type of candidate Express was looking for too.
And the timing couldn’t have been better. Knowing that staffing is the first industry to see an improvement coming out of a recession, Paul can’t wait to get to work and put his skills into action.
“I’m impressed by Express and their focus on helping people succeed. It’s a company that cares. And, I like that although I am the owner of my franchise, Express will be there every step of the way to help me be successful. I keep hearing a lot about the ‘Express System,’ and I plan on following that model to be the best staffing and HR provider in my market. I’m ready to get my business underway.”
